High Priest Four Wheeling Trip to West Prior Mountain.

On Saturday July 12, 2014 six members of the Third Ward High Priest Group went on a four wheeling trip to the west Prior Mountain.  It was a beautiful summer day and those that went on the trip had a very good time!  Many more wanted to go on the trip but were unable because of Byron day.  But we will go again!

Below are photos that were taken on the trip

If you look toward the top middle of the photo you can see part of a switchback road up the mountain.  We won't be traveling up this road, but a road with similar switchbacks.

This is where we leave the main road and on to a rough 4 wheel drive road going up the mountain.

As we travel up the mountain we go though an area of dead trees caused by a forest fire.

We rise up from the valley below

Looking South, Horseshoe Bend can be seen in the mist.

This photo was taken with a telephoto lens.  This shows photo shows Lovell. At the far right is the new cell phone tower by Save Way Exxon, middle right is the sugar factory, the left side of the photo is the east side of town.

On these trips we get to do a lot of visiting and getting to know on an other better.

As I take pictures I get left behind.  Four of our party heading west.

The wild flowers are as thick as I have ever seen them.  Blue Lupine, white Phlox, the American bistort are the white ball flowers, purple Shooting Stars and yellow Daisies.

The wild flowers were as thick as a carpet

The trail though the forest

To follow the trail we had to drive over some fallen timber.

We are trying to get the timer on the camera to work.  This was our 1st try.  Pictured are Brent Lethead, Leroy Collins, Jack Nicholls, Bill Karlinsey, Dale Fowler

This cabin was built on a slope but it still looks like it is leaning more than it should be.  What is amazing is that the floor inside is level.

These dead tries were taken on the way down the mountain

The road down, we come off the mountain near Warren Montana
